Why hire a freelance developer?

There are a few key reasons to consider using a freelancer for your web development needs. One is that you'll have a dedicated and single point of contact throughout the project, so you won't have to deal with multiple people or teams. You'll always know who to reach out to if you have any questions or concerns.

Another advantage of using a freelancer is that it can be more cost-effective than using a larger agency or company. Freelancers typically charge by the hour rather than by the project, which can help keep costs down. Plus, because freelancers often work remotely, there are no additional costs associated with office space or other overhead expenses.

Finally, freelancers can often work faster than larger companies or agencies. Because they don't have to deal with the same level of bureaucracy or red tape, they can get things done more quickly and efficiently.

When working with me, you don't have to worry about me reselling domains, hosting services, or licenses for templates or components. My clients own their domain name, hosting service, and all licensing. I charge for my time, so I charge per hour, not per project. I work remotely and frequently update clients on progress.

Typical Scenario

A typical web development scenario with me would involve consulting with the client to understand their needs, then helping them register a domain name and hosting service in their name, and providing log-in details to the control panels. This allows me to associate the domain name with a specific server and deploy the platform (Joomla CMS) and install the Yootheme template. This process usually takes 1-3 days, depending on the domain propagation time on the Internet.

At this stage, the website is live and filled with dummy content that comes with the template, and the client has access to the administrator panel. Next, I work on customizing the website using text and multimedia content provided by the client or licensed stock multimedia. Once the presentation layer is completed, I work with custom components to add functionality (usually by installing project-specific extensions from the Joomla Extensions Directory). Once functionality is tested, there's usually a need for final tuning and polishing of the website. Customization time depends on the project, and some clients prefer to add their own products to e-commerce components, while others need my help with importing massive stock from spreadsheets or other sources. Once the final presentation and handover are done, I continue to work with the client on analytics, marketing, and regular updates.
